Here we are in November 🍂 and it’s been quite a year. One of growth, change, and challenge. Truthfully, there’s been a lot of learning and unlearning over here. A lot of hard-look-in-the-mirror moments that sting. It’s been painful, but a good kind of pain. The type of burn you feel when rubbing alcohol hits raw skin, getting rid of bacteria before infection spreads. Or when Grandma spread ointment over your wound, tingling as it formed a protective barrier over what needed covering. As the year phases out, I’m digesting and making sense of all the lessons. Life is not fair, but  I will always fair well.  Things that can be viewed  as a disadvantage I view as an advantage.  Life may not always be good to me, but I am good to me.  Things happen for me to learn.  I don’t despise the learning or look down on the work.  Life does not just happen to me.  I’m making this life what I want it to be.  I’m responsible for shaping my life.  I’m intentional about shaping my life.  I make my life grand. I make my life meaningful.  So it is.

I am comfortable in my own skin. I am comfortable with my emotions. They do not intimidate me or define me, but they are a part of me. I am comfortable in a familiar environment. I am comfortable in an unfamilar environment. Because I am comfortable with who I am. I allow others to be comfortable around me. I am comfortable around people who look and think like me. And I am comfortable with those who don't. I feel connected with whoever I am with because we are all human. I am comfortable with people who are in a higher income bracket than me and I am comfortable with people who are in a lower income bracket as well. I am comfortable in my own skin.
